Well, we did it! We adopted a puppy from the rescue that we fostered for. Our son has been asking for a dog, and I have been wanting a dog, and finally one came up in a Facebook post from the rescue that we could all fall in love with. In fact, I had this drawing of him done before we even picked him up! He’s doing better than we expected - the first night was a little rough as far as bedtime goes. The good news is that he and Trip are becoming pals. The bad news is that they may be plotting a coup to take power from the rest of the feline posse. So the puppy’s name is Jake, and he is decidedly my dog. His tail goes a million miles an hour for me, he comes running when he hears my voice, and he loves to nap by me. I’m lucky that Poppa G is the perfect partner - he’s been a great co-parent as we navigate this first full weekend.
