Bing in Profile, keychain

I love this image of Bing! For the life of me, I couldn't tell you how I did it - I have yet to be able to replicate this style of drawing. Bing came to us as a foster kitten - as did most of the cats at LKG. He was small and adorable! From playing toys in the front hall to giving "kisses" to the cement cat statue in the front window., my husband and I fell absolutely in love with him!

But the everyday re\ward in fostering kittens is knowing that what you are doing is improving the lives of those kittens and the lives of their future adopters. So we did all the things - back and forth to Napa - including one set of shots given in the front seat of the rescue's van! And, of course, dropping Bing off for his week-long neuter appointment at UC-Davis.

When we picked up Bing's batch from their Davis appointments, we received the news that Bing is Feline Leukemia Virus positive (FLV+). The rescue offered to hold on to Bing at their cat room at a local pet supply store, so that a family who might already have a FLV+ cat might be able to spot a buddy for their kitty at home. My husband and I figured that this was the best option, so we went along with it - and spent the weekend in tears over Bing.

Monday rolled around and I had to go for groceries. Of course, I also needed to pick up cat litter, so I stopped at the pet supply store where Bing was/\. I peeked in and saw my Bing. He was lying in his litter box, crying. Soon I was crying, too, and texting my husband about bringing Bing home and calling the rescue to let them know that Bing was no longer up for adoption. His home would be with us. 

So far, he's doing great. He's happy and healthy and we love him!
